The story of this piece is I’m sitting in a parking lot waiting on some folks to come back to the car. They were in a Blockbuster, and I’m looking up at the tiles at the roofline of the strip mall, and I thought, oh my god, I see a buffet in the roofline. And usually when something like that happens, and I look at a building that to me becomes a piece of furniture, I see the furniture instantly and I jot it down and go from there.

This was a piece that really pushed me forward. The tiles going left to right on the doors. It was the first time I was really like, “I want to play and do something different.”
